Illustrator print screen for my microsite/game

I intend for this tree to be the basis of my microsite/game which I will animate so that each section will be dropped into the correct position and then an addition animation will play to show that the placement was correct. I will probably have to add other details into it so that there is slightly more to it, such as a gallery or an additional game.

More Layout Developments

I've developed my pages further, trying to tweak them to a point where they're close to being finished! I don't really like my cover design but I didn't spend as much time on it as the rest of the spreads, it's a bit of an after thought. I'm not looking forward to having to get them printed and put on paper perfectly, I think it's going to be quite expensive to get them all printed out on A3. Still need to buy my folders and paper to stick them onto anyway so think a trip to the uni shop is in order for me!

Cover Junkie

I haven't really thought much about my front cover yet because I have been focusing on the main pages but i've been having a browse on this website at covers anyway to see if any inspiration jumps out. I think i'll probably still leave my cover for a bit until the rest of the pages to a place where I'm happy with them :)

Editorial Designs - Take 2!

These are my editorial designs after I have adjusted them. I've added 6 column grids onto each page, changed the colour scheme so that it is brighter in the second half of double page spreads and I've taken more images and replaced some of the old ones or blank spaces. Think these are more of a success!

Some Editorial Layouts

Seeing as I'd designs some layouts and put them on the 'TalkType' blog, I thought I might as well add mine to my personal blog! This is the first time I've ever designed this sort of thing on a course and I'm actually feeling alright about them :) so hopefully it wont turn out that graphically they're a disaster. They're not the most amazing editorial designs in the world but I'm happy with them in the grand scheme of things!

Bit of microsite research

Annoyingly enough microsites are quite difficult to find unless you're specifically searching for something, well that's what I found anyway in my research process. There were a few of them which I found, they're not crazily interesting but they're alright for a starting point, none of them really link in with the topic of what I want my site to be but I may be able to mimic their ideas.

Some site McDonald's is associated with http://365black.com/365black/
Land rover site for a new range rover model http://www.landrover.com/Microsites/GWS40Microsites/GL/GLLRX.html
Nikon DS3 site http://imaging.nikon.com/lineup/microsite/d3s_d3x/en/

going to keep an eye out for more that will come in handy!

bits and bobs from branding in context

Little Milton Glaser reminder

Must be honest, i'd never heard of Milton Glaser until I was on this course, which is fairly shocking if I intend to be a Graphic Designer! So I was quite proud of myself when my flat mate came in wearing this t-shirt and I was able to point at him and exclaim 'Milton Glaser'! And then had to explain why that was necessary to do, at least there is one thing I have learnt being on this course :)

Editorial folder work

Selection of editorial layout experiments and then some which are more defined with imagery and realistic placement. I intend to base some of my later in design layouts on these smaller layouts.

Buildings that I didn't know existed in Wolverhampton!

On a little tour around Wolverhampton's center, I noticed these style buildings and was surprised because I didn't know anything about the area's history. I like the Victorian Architecture of the city but don't think it is fully appreciated by the people who visit it everyday.
